Scary and Exciting Steps
BRAVE OR CRAZY?!
I made a commitment to complete the rough draft of my book by May 3rd! Yikes! Scary and exciting at the same time. I have no doubt that I can do it, but whenever I make a big commitment like that, something inside of me seems to wake up, curl its lip and ask if I’m crazy! I usually try to respond that probably I am, but I’m going to do it anyway.
This made me look back over the years and think about the things I’ve done that were “crazy” and how they turned out in the long run. Like when I divorced my first husband and became a single mom, living in assisted housing. That was culture shock and really scary to be responsible for so much. It did not take long before I decided that I was going to buy a house to raise my daughter in. How I would do this was another matter entirely.
I kept that desire strong in my mind, worked as much as I could, and saved every penny – and I do mean penny’s! In time, a mortgage opportunity came my way, and I purchased a modest home in a good neighborhood. Even now, after so many years, I an still proud of this accomplishment!
Years later, I decided that I could no longer work in the position I held, I was being drained far too much for my health and welfare. This change became an entire story in and of itself, that I shall save for another time. The important part is that I opened my own business and have been self employed for five years now.
Oh the freedom!
This year, I am taking my business to new heights, setting my sights on fulfilling all my desires and working to coach, train and speak to others so they may find the courage to step into their freedom. Too many people are imprisoned by their jobs and need to escape. That’s who I am, the escape buddy who stands beside you while you make scary and exciting commitments to yourself. Call it brave or call it crazy, once you take that step, you will always have amazing experiences to look back on and be proud of.
Plan to make this year your changing point and you will never regret it!
